About

PaliGhar is a scenic countryside farm-stay, about a 30-minute drive from Kalimpong, it offers an authentic, rustic and comfortable experience of Nepali culture, heritage and cuisine.

Its two cottages were designed taking inspiration from traditional architectural styles to perfectly blend in to the rural landscape. Their construction included using locally available resources and mud bricks hand-made by local craftsmen. Today, most of these traditional building forms are a dying art; the aim of PaliGhar is to safeguard this rich heritage while providing its guests with a real understanding of rural life - without compromising on the quality of comfort. A small kitchen garden on the property grows seasonal vegetables and herbs and is completely organic, whilst milk and eggs are readily available from the farm and from around the village. Full-course Nepali cuisine is served, prepared according to guests’ preference of spices.
